From a little fish
Wraggs Seafoods has a long history of providing quality produce to the wholesalers and fish & chips shops of Leeds.
Wraggs Seafoods Ltd. began as G.Wragg Leeds in the 1950’s selling fish in the Leeds retail market.
In the 1960’s it moved to a stand in Leeds Wholesale Market on Pontefract Lane where it was one of the 64 stands, 12 of which sold fish.
When Leeds City Council decided to close down the market, G. Wraggs Leeds was the last stand to leave and set up outside of the market to continue trading.
Whilst in the market, the business was sold to Naylors Food, an existing fish supplier, and on leaving the market Jonathan Naylor and an original Wraggs employee, Kevin Hayton decided to go into business together and renaming it G.Wragg Yorkshire Ltd.
The business continued supplying the Leeds area and in 2011, Collins Seafoods Ltd took over the company. The company has over 30 years in the fish industry, brought its expertise and traditional business style to continue supplying high quality produce to fish and chip shops and small wholesalers in East Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
Today Wraggs Seafoods supply an impressive number of fish and chip shops throughout the Yorkshire and the East Midlands, as well as wholesalers and smaller businesses.
